Studio: Presentation Techniques, FIT Graduate Exhibition and Experience Design

Venue: Sing Sing Prison, Ossining, New York
The proposed Sing Sing Prison Museum is the world’s first working prison museum. With plans to open by 2025, the design proposal for the adjacent project is for the Visitor’s Center. Contrast and juxtaposition through materiality, design and diverse exhibits is used as the primary concepts of the space.
The visitor center is comprised of three exhibit zones. Together, they seek to inform visitors through interactive media, storytelling and facts that can educate visitors on the justice system and its’ many faults. The goal of the space is to educate and inform, presenting the sides of all who are involved in the prison system, including families and prison guards, demonstrating just how detrimental the entire system is for all involved.
