Press: MZ Wallace’s New Flagship Is a Fantasia of Trompe L’oeil Stone
Designed for handbag company MZ Wallace, this flagship location was conceived as a play on various references, one being Gio Ponti’s Pirelli Tower rubber flooring. A stepping stone for the project, the marble pattern was extracted, elongated, and developed into a print repeated on the carpeted floors, wallpapered shelves, and custom drapery that envelop the space. Mirror polished steel, chrome accents, and mirrored reflections a là Chanel + Trix and Robert Haussmann provide the perfect backdrop. Colorful chromed stools by artist Shun Kinoshita in pinks, blues, and silver are used as dynamic display stands. As the lead interior designer and project manager, I oversaw all aspects of the project, from schematic design through construction administration, procurement, and installation, working closely with fabricators in NYC to develop the textiles, wallpaper, and furnishings.
