TURTLE BAY RESIDENCE

Client/Venue: Private Residence

Year: June 2022

A private residence in New York’s Turtle Bay, this penthouse was designed for an individual who enjoys entertaining. An open living room featuring a custom mushroom wallpaper design applied on the ceiling is playful and inviting. At the same time, a boucle Jean Royère sofa and Dominoni stools lead into the serene dining room, featuring a steel table base and Jean Michel-Frank console. The two rooms are tied together using sisal rugs, creating a sense of warmth and intimacy. The library and solarium, with views of the city, are designed for relaxation and study, enveloped in a landscape wallpaper from Schumacher with plenty of greenery, explored further by abaca rugs, jute pendants, and a sage green linen slipcovered sofa. An upstairs bedroom is clothed in baby blue raffia, a custom velvet headboard, and a custom-painted mushroom lantern by artist Pilar Hyman illuminating the room.
